Why Are We Recycling Leadership? by Akindele Akinyemi

Detroit is on the verge of complete collapse. Just like the Soviet Union fell in 1990 Detroit is preparing to fall as well. There are so many people tied in with the Synagro mess. Wayne county Commissioner Jewel Ware owns land up in Idlewild, MI to parade senior citizens so she can continue to corner the senior vote to keep herself in office. And now, if anyone saw the 13th Congressional debates on Flashpoint Sunday morning you can clearly see that we are in deep mess.

For real, do you want this woman to get back in office?
I mean first she talked about protecting "Y'alls Boy" back in 2005 when Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick kicked off his re-election campaign in Detroit. Now she told Mary Waters she can't even carry her bra right on television.

Speaking of Mary Waters when is she going to stop telling people that she picked cotton in Alabama? She is 52 years old. Unless she was a sharecropper she should make her case a little clearer. My fear of Mary Waters being elected she will be the same as nutty Councilwoman Monica Conyers in office. Do you want a Monica Conyers clone in Washington D.C.?

What is wrong with State Senator Martha G. Scott? She allowed Congresswoman Kilpatrick to get the best of her on television. She was not on top of her game and now people are looking at her as the buffoon who was used and abused by the Congresswoman.

Do you want a Detroit that's leadership is ran by the following:

Ajene Cheeks Evans, who does not even have a GED and smoke trees for days (weed), is in great position to win the State House seat his mother, Rep. Marsha Cheeks, occupies? Unless we push Sheila Dapremont over the top on August 5 we are finished.

Do you want Carl Ramsey to win the 12th district State House seat so he can continue Mayor Kilpatrick's corrupt and insane policies.

Or do you want Mayor Kilpatrick's dream candidate to get in the State House in the 12th District (Rashida Tlaib)? She would replace Ramsey as the new mouthpiece for the Kilpatrick Administration in the name of community service. She does not even live in the district but what the hell, neither does Carlita Kilpatrick (the Kilpatricks have a house in Florida).
Can you envision Belda Garza, if she is not elected back to the State House this year, running for Detroit City Council as a mouthpiece for Mayor Kilpatrick?

Do you want Councilwoman Monica Conyers to run for re-election on the Republican ticket in Detroit? After all she is bi-polar just like this woman....
State Representative Bettie Cook Scott, who is a mouthpiece and puppet for these two women in office.

State Senator Irma Clark-Coleman, who wants to wipe charter schools off the face of the Earth with her anti-charter school rampages.

State Senator Martha G. Scott, who wants to wipe charters off the face of the earth as well.

Speaking of Sen. Clark-Coleman she has her Chief of Staff running for State office named Gary Pollard in District 11. He is running exclusively on State Sen. Clark-Coleman's platform, which includes ending the expansion of charter schools in Detroit. Do you want him to continue supporting a failing public school system like Detroit Public Schools?

Speaking of Gary Pollard why is Fred Durhal helping Pollard in his race? Fred Durhal is running against Sheila Dapremont and Ajene Evans in District 6. What is going on between Pollard and Durhal and why are they in co-hoots with each other? Remember, this is the same Durhal who supported this man for office.

Gay attorney Rudy Serra. Durhal was his campaign manager. However Durhal belongs to the Unity Baptist Church under the direct leadership of Rev. Valmon D. Stotts. Does Rev. Stotts support homosexuality in both his congregation and in the political realm? Are we supposed to vote our core Christian values? And if so does his church supports Rudy Serra actions? Did Gary Pollard support Serra as well? Does both men support this character below...

Now we know that Dr. Womack belongs to the United Church of Christ. He is also running for State Representative in District 7. Here is a man who was the Detroit School Board president who hired Dr. Connie Calloway at $280,000 and cannot trim a deficit of $600 million in the DPS system.

However, I do not think he trying to shoot for higher office to protect the children. If he is being supported by State Senator Buzz Thomas:

And his Womack's faith supports this statement:

The United Church of Christ supports the following resolution that was passed July 2005 in Atlanta, GA:

The resolution "In support of equal marriage rights for all", supported by an estimated 80% of the 884 General Synod Delegates, made the United Church of Christ General Synod the first major Christian deliberative body in the U.S. to make a statement of support for "equal marriage rights for all people, regardless of gender," and is hitherto the largest Christian denominational entity in the U.S. supporting equal marriage rights. According to Rev. John H. Thomas, the president and general minister of the denomination, which has 6,000 congregations and 1.3 million members, he felt that the United Church of Christ has courageously acted to declare freedom, affirming marriage equality, affirming the civil rights of gay - of same-gender - couples to have their relationships recognized as marriages by the state, and encouraging our local churches to celebrate those marriages.

Then why are we trying to send Womack up to Lansing? This sounds like more of a LGBT agenda as compared to a moral Christian leadership agenda. Womack already brags about how his daughters went to Mumford High School, which is the official gay and lesbian capital of the Detroit Public Schools.

Do you want that type of leadership representing us in Lansing for Detroit?

Back to Fred Durhal for a second. His position on education is interesting. On his website he states the following:

I support public education. We need to fix what is wrong with our public schools. It will take money and a deeply committed school board that will work tirelessly to change the realities occurring in the largest district in our state. I am a product of the public school system - Northwestern High, McMichael and Marr Junior High, Woodward and Esterbrook Elementary. Running away from the system will never repair it. While I can support charter schools within the context of the public school system, I believe that public dollars should stay in public schools. I believe that classroom sizes must be reduced. I believe that more money must be put into Special Education, Adult Education and Vocational Education programs to ensure that every student can learn to the maximum of her/his potential.

Fred must not understand the concept of free market education. Let's zoom in closer:

"While I can support charter schools within the context of the public school system, I believe that public dollars should stay in public schools."

Well Fred, this is why we cannot send you back to Lansing. I cannot support a candidate who does not even understand the very basics of charter education. For instance, charter schools are public schools. So public money is staying in public schools. Then you said you support charter schools within the context of the public school system. In other words, are you saying that Detroit Public Schools should charter or should charters be absorbed into the Detroit Public School system.

Then he said:

"I believe that more money must be put into Special Education, Adult Education and Vocational Education programs to ensure that every student can learn to the maximum of her/his potential."

DPS receives $1.4 billion a year to operate. How come Fred is not talking about accountability in DPS?

Furthermore, why did Fred get out of his van with his volunteers and flood Sheila Dapremont's street with his propaganda?

Come to find out that no one on Sheila's block is supporting Fred. In fact, they don't even trust him and feel that he is connected to Kilpatrick family indirectly just like Rashida Tlaib through Rep. Steve Tobocaman. So why is Fred intimidated by Sheila Dapremont of all people? And how come he told David Nathan (who is running in District 11 against Fred's "boy" Gary Pollard) to sit the F*** down and let us older people get in office first and you guys follow behind us?

What about this guy named Wayne County Commissioner Burton Leland?

This man has been a State Representative and State Senator for the City of Detroit for over 20 years and do not even live here as documented on this critically acclaimed video at http://youtube.com/watch?v=IBMxpVxdK1g

Now, this man has enjoyed crushing his opponents. Now, there is a new threat preparing to end his run named Monique Baker McCormick who can be seen here at http://youtube.com/watch?v=U6RKty14m0k

So who does Commissioner Leland sends to do his dirty work against McCormick?
His son, State Representative Gabe Leland (who lives in East Lansing but have a West Warren address in Detroit. He is my State Representative).

And shockingly, but not supposed this person.
State Senator Tupac Hunter. He is my State Senator as well.

It seems like everyone who is tied in with the McNamara machine is corrupt. People like Bernard Kilpatrick, Attorney General Mike Cox, Gov. Jennifer Granholm, DMC Chairman Mike Duggan just to name a few. Since 2000, the Rev. Wendell Anthony, pastor of Fellowship Chapel, has been one of the principals of the duty-free store at Detroit Metropolitan Airport's new McNamara Terminal. This is the same pastor whose name keep coming up in the Synagro mess. Yet, we worship at his church in the name of Jesus and Black Power.
Look who else was a beneficiary of the McNamara machine. Granholm's friend Melvin "Butch" Hollowell, David Fink and Kevin Kelley of Redford Township.

Do you really want the same people back in office?

This is why Detroit needs to embrace the Covenant for Detroit platform. As I mentioned before the Covenant for Detroit are based on nine steps to improve government.

1. Fiscal Responsibility: A balanced budget/tax limitation proposal and a legislative line-item veto to restore fiscal responsibility to an out- of-control Mayor/City Council, requiring them to live under the same budget constraints as families and businesses.

2. Reclaiming Our Streets: A REAL anti-crime package including stronger truth-in- sentencing, good faith exclusionary rule exemptions, and cuts in wasteful spending to fund prison construction and additional law enforcement to keep people secure in their neighborhoods and kids safe in their schools.

3. Encourage Personal Responsibility: Work with state lawmakers to discourage illegitimacy and teen pregnancy by prohibiting welfare to minor mothers and denying increased benefits for additional children while on welfare, cut spending for welfare programs to promote individual responsibility.

4. Real Family Preservation: Child support enforcement, tax incentives for adoption, strengthening rights of parents in their children's education, stronger child pornography laws, and an elderly dependent care tax credit to reinforce the central role of families in the City of Detroit, shared equal parenting rights which equals to children needing both parents.

5. Educational Reform: Repeal the tax credit in the Michigan Constitution to allow Universal Tax Credits for parents and children in Detroit, expansion of theme based charter schools, private scholarships for children in failing public schools, prayer in schools, replace multiculturalism with patriotic education, encourage private sector participation in math and science education, fighting adult illiteracy with private based programs that will create job readiness.

6. Detroit Restoration : A $500 per child tax credit and creation of Detroit Dream Savings Accounts to provide middle class tax relief.

7. Job Creation: Small business incentives, capital gains cut and indexation, neutral cost recovery, risk assessment/cost-benefit analysis and unfunded mandate reform to create jobs and raise worker wages.

8. Citizen Legislature: A first-ever vote on term limits to replace career politicians with citizen legislators in Detroit. Also, vote City Council by districts and place term limits on each council member. Mayor of Detroit should have term limits.

9. Senior Citizens: Provide tax incentives for private long-term care insurance to let the elderly in Detroit keep more of what they have earned over the years.
No other group or network is talking about freeing Detroit from the name recognition crisis that has been plaguing our city for quite some time. In order to move Detroit forward we will need to remove both the Mayor and the entire Detroit City Council and Detroit School Board and replace them with free market candidates who will help rebuild Detroit from a global perspective. We do not need the underground running the operations anymore. We need God-fearing candidates to win this year in 2008, 2009 and 2010 to bring Detroit back to its pristine purity.

Did you hear what Nolan Finley's assessment of the leadership of Detroit was in the Sunday Fress Press?

"Detroiters are sitting on the rooftops like the pitiful Katrina victims waiting for a rescue boat to float by."

He also said in his commentary:

"Detroiters need to march down to City Hall and drag the rascals out. It's maddening that six months into this unnatural disaster there's still no credible recall drive underway to get rid of the mayor quickly and cleanly. Start one today. And leave spaces open on the petition to add any council member whose name shows up on a federal indictment. You're not helpless Detroit. And you don't have to be a victim. Get angry. Get loud. Shout down the parasitic preachers who have a pocketbook stake in protecting their political partners. Wave off the excuse makers who urge you to let the legal process play itself out. You may be six feet under by then. This is your city. You can't wait for the business community to do something. It's got no vote. You can't wait for Gov. Jennifer Granholm to do something. She's got no spine. As a city, you've got to lift yourself out of your deathbed."
We can uplift ourselves out of the deathbed. It is called the COVENANT FOR DETROIT.

This is a free market grassroots platform that supports family values through educational choice to generate wealth creation in our community. Our candidates for the Covenant loves the ideas of the free market and the ideas of change.

So who supports The Covenant for Detroit?

Dr. Carol Weaver supports the Covenant for Detroit platform. She is running for state represenative in District 7.

So does Carol Banks in District 3 running against Bettie Cook Scott. We must show Rep. Scott the door for closing the door on educational choices for our children.

Grassroots powerhouse Sheila Dapremont who is running against Fred Durhal and Ajene Evans in District 6. If you ride down her neighborhood you will see and feel why we need to implement the Covenant for Detroit.

Running for state represenative in District 11 Jenean M. Bryant supports the Covenant for Detroit.

A woman who should actually be running for U.S. Congress in District 13 is Denise Monroe Hearn. Even though she embraces the Covenant for Detroit and is running for state representative the more she sees the dangers in her community the more she will grow stronger to run for that Congressional seat.

We cannot forget about the growing Love Movement in District 8. Leslie Love is running against tax and spend liberal Rep. George Cushingberry. We must embrace and love her and support her as she embraces the Covenant for Detroit.
Either we are going to force change or die. Take your pick.
