How Come Mayor Kilpatrick Is Running Three Candidates Against Denise Monroe Hearn by Akindele Akinyemi

We understand that Denise Monroe Hearn will not bend over backwards for anyone in this tight 12th district race in Southwest Detroit. She is the BEST candidate for the very simple fact that she is unbought and unbossed. Denise knows Southwest Detroit in and out and has been on the front lines for the people time and time again. Her ability to work across the aisle to craft policy will be a huge asset in Lansing. According to Denise it's not about Democrat or Republican it's about class and policy.

So here is my question. How come Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is running three people in this race against Denise Monroe Hearn directly and indirectly?

http://www.fsma.org.mx/espanol/data/images/BELDAGARZA.jpg

Former State Representative Belda Garza is a Kilpatrick appointee to the Reform Detroit School Board. Did anyone forget that?

We know that Carl Ramsey is a mouthpiece for Kwame Kilpatrick and will not be able to think for himself.

And poor Rashida Tlaib. Not only she does not live in the district we found out this past weekend that she spends most of her time in Dearborn. And now we have caught her in a documentary (that you can see here at http://www.pbs.org/pov/pov2008/electionday/fullfilm.html). Even though this documentary took place in 2004 the neighbors have shared with my cousin (who do not live too far from her 9123 Rathbone address) that she spends MORE time in Dearborn than in the very district that she is running in as a carpetbagger.

It does not matter if she was 200 feet from the district she is STILL a resident of Dearborn. I, as a Nigerian-American, could not live within100 feet of Dearborn and run for state representative in Dearborn because the Arabs there will not (1) vote for a Black man who does not live in the district, (2) vote for a Black man who LIVES in the district and (3) vote for a Christian. Even if I understood the landscape of the district in Dearborn and have done extensive work in the community there these Arabs are seeking someone from their own ranks to run for a leadership position and they are correct to do so. There is nothing racist about that. If she wants to run for state representative then she should run in Dearborn where she is more familiar with the landscape and her people who she is already serving. Then she could gain greater and broader support.

But the Mayor got his hand on Tlaib as well indirectly. You see, Tlaib's boss is Rep. Steve Tobocman, who is the Majority Floor Leader of the Michigan House of Representatives. The Mayor and Tobocman are friends. For those of you who feel I should concentrate on Tlaib's policy work this is all I found on her "policies"

This is directly from her website:

  • Defended hundreds of families’ legal rights as a community advocate.

  • Fought for stronger consumer protection by drafting and passing legislation to regulate tax refund loans so that taxpayers are not misled.

  • Helped prosecute fraudulent tax preparers and immigration consultants targeting Southwest Detroit families.

  • Created a 10-state political strategy for voter education and organizing for ethnic communities. The program earned national recognition and awarded funding by the Ford Foundation and other distinguished donors.

  • Worked hard to protect public safety by championing community policing through the Initiative for Meaningful Police and Community Trust (IMPACT).

  • This is Tlaib's policies? Looks kind of skimpy. No meat to her substance. However she is open to
embryonic stem cell research. She must be jumping for joy since the proposal made the ballot for November. Because she supports this this should be a complete turn off for Blacks to vote for her. By her taking this position contradicts her Islamic faith 100%.

So you have thee candidates running against Denise Monroe Hearn. It is so bad that both Emma Bell and Mayor Kilpatrick convinced the UAW to take the endorsement away from Denise and give it to Carl "Mouthpiece" Ramsey. The Mayor is like the Don King of this match down in Southwest Detroit.

Let's see what form of public corruption is going on under this Mayor and why one of the three candidates must try to beat Denise Monroe Hearn on August 5, 2008.

Synagro Technologies. Now we are finding out that the Mayor allies in the grassroots community were sniffing around to pad their own pockets.

    (a) Councilwoman Monica Conyers caught on tape taking money. An ally of the Mayor. If she has any sense (which she does not have) she would turn her ghetto self in and get processed. It's bad enough that she does not live in the same house with her husband.

    (b) Councilwoman Alberta Tinsley-Talabi. An ally of the Mayor.

    (c) Councilwoman Barbara Rose-Collins. An ally of the Mayor.

    (d) Councilwoman Martha Reeves. Slumlord and ally of the Mayor.

    (e) Councilwoman Sheila Cockrel. Trying to cover her own ass. Ally of the Mayor.

    (f) The Rev. Wendell Anthony. Watch who Fannie Lou Hamer supports in Southwest Detroit for state representative.

    (g) Paul Taylor of the Inner City Sub center pushing for support of Synagro Technologies. Can LaMar Lemmons be far behind?

    (h) Sharon and Wayne County Commissioner Bernard Parker of Operation Get Down.

    (i) Jesse Long-Bey and Wayne County Commissioner Jewel Ware.

    (j) Even Detroit School Board member Otis Mathis has backed off his opposition to Synagro. That alone should bring SW Detroit to a hault.

    (k) Rayford Jackson
who is a key player in the investigation who got Fox 2 News Fanchon Stinger caught up and now suspended from Fox 2 with her career in limbo. Jackson sits on the Board of Directors for the Freedom Institute, a social justice group founded by Rev. Wendell Anthony.

    (l) Bernard Kilpatrick. This is self-explanatory.

    (m) John Clark. Former Chief of Staff for Councilman Ken Cockrel Jr. caught on tape taking money from an informant. But the strange thing is Ken Cockrel Jr. voted against the contract. Or is there some underhanded mess going on under the table?

    (n) Where is former Detroit Water and Sewerage Director Victor Mercado fit into this puzzle?

So we know it is a matter of time when the Federal government will come down on these people and hopefully clean house. But that will not happen if either Belda Garza, Carl Ramsey or Rashida Tlaib gets in office.

Before Synagro you had Minergy Detroit. Both are environmental hazards in Delray in Southwest Detroit. I cannot figure out why no one wants to help those residents in Delray.

You see Synagro wants to transform sludge from the Waste Water Treatment Plant downriver into fertilizer pellets for land application. Environmentalists say the process has caused disease and death nationwide. Delray is already on life support why would you want to finish off the people living in poverty in this area?

Synagro operates the world’s largest sludge-to-fertilizer plant in the South Bronx. Neighbors in the largely Black and Latino communities near the plant have complained of odors, emission of asthma-causing particulates, and the flushing of industrial waste into the city’s sewer system.

My question is how come Black leadership in Detroit is always allowing White environmental companies to set up shop in the Black and Hispanic communities and kill the residents in these communities with chemicals that causes asthma and other close to death experiences? Why would our Black leadership allow more pollution in the area? Do we actually care about each other? If Synagro was to set up shop in the heart of Dearborn you would have seen Rashida Tlaib protesting to keep this company out of her community. But because it is in a poor area of Hispanics and Blacks she simply does not give a damn and that is the reason why she is running for state representative to support measures such as Synagro to set up shop in SW Detroit. She would have never gone along with a plan in her native Dearborn.

Marathon. Marathon will be investing up to $2 billion to expand their refinery in SW Detroit. Again the players who support this are Belda Garza, Carl Ramsey and Rashida Tlaib. Who is against this? Denise Monore Hearn. Can you see who is on the people's side and who is on the Mayor's side? Anyone who drives down I-75 ANYTIME can smell Marathon. The only candidate that sued Marathon in a class-action lawsuit because of the pollution was Denise. Yet, people want to vote for the three who are in the Mayor's pocket (directly and indirectly).

Be careful what you ask for. Denise Monroe Hearn is more than just a mover She is a shaker and she plans to continue shaking things up in Southwest Detroit and that is the reason why she must go to Lansing.
